My Decor!

So in my fun facts about me, I mentioned how much fun I had decorating my apartment.  Honestly, I'm still having fun decorating because I am still adding things every now and then when I think of them.  So here is the photo tour!!

So we will start in our bedroom.  Here you can see our bed- Joel, my dad and I built the headboard.  My dad and Joel did the cut outs and I did the upholstering.  The blanket on the end of the bed is one that I knit, actually the first one I ever knit and I love it.  The sweater chest at the bottom of the bed is one I got from my grandmother.  Oh and I also sewed the throw pillows on the bed!  The two frames on the wall hold my french post cards since our room is Parisian themed!

Here you can see our nice big window.  The frame on the left has a window from Joel's first truck that had a Nirvana sticker on it- I got it framed for his birthday last year and I think it's a pretty cool addition to the decor.  Above the window are some pictures of Joel and I that I did in frames from Ikea.  You can also see my Paris poster on the other wall.

This is a picture of our dresser that we refinished and painted.  We spent quite a while sanding it down and getting it all smooth, then we painted it, and finally a month or so ago we got the hardware for it and I love the drawer pulls! I think they are just the coolest things ever!  Also there is my Eiffel Tower lamp that Joel got me for our one year anniversary :) he is the best.

Here is our bookcase- it has all of our books plus some little decorative touches.  I have my bear that my grandmother had made for me and my cousin out of a mink coat that belonged to my great grandmother and I think it is just so cool.  It also has Joel's black belt certificate and his black belt with his name on it. Oh and I have my bear holding this little decoupage block I did with some scrapbook paper and a picture of me and my friend Katie that I love, which is fitting because she's the one who showed me how to do that stuff!

So here is our living room.  I made the throw pillows on the couches, and the end table next to the couch I decoupaged with some old sheet music which I think looks really good.  The Monet poster my dad got for me and got it framed for me and everything too.  I love the mirrors I got too, they were really cheap at Kirkland's!

I love  this wall with all the pictures on it.  I also love how not all the frames match- it matches my style all eclectic and stuff!  The tv stand now has it's top back and does not look as weird.  My dad made me the tv stand a while ago and it's perfect for me and my little tv!  Our coffee table is from Ikea and it's pretty cool.

This is a new addition to the living room, a piece of stained glass that I got from my grandmother that my grandfather made.  It is my favorite piece of his that he made and I am so lucky to have it!  It is absolutely gorgeous and it completes the room I think!

Here is our dining room area.  I used wine bottles and wrapped them in yarn to use as vases.  The shelves are from Ikea and I painted them to match my other decor.  I also got that chalk board from Ikea and the opposite wall is our wipeoff board and cork tile squares for pinning stuff up!  The chair in the foreground is a rocking chair from my grandmother as well, which is pretty old mostly just for decoration but it's really cool and I like how it works in the room.

This is our spare bedroom/my craft room/the desk room.  My dad made the bed frame and it's so awesome, he built it from a design that I found online and made it himself!  The artwork on the wall is mine from pieces of scrapbook paper, buttons and letters.

Here is my desk and above it I have my bulletin board with all my pictures and cards and everything.  On my desk I have my picture frames and things that I made myself (it is my arts and crafts desk after all).  Joel got me a really awesome magnetic cutting mat that I now have on my desk too.  It is perfect for scrapbooking, cutting everything I need for my projects and basically just the perfect addition to my desk all around :)

And finally there is my sewing table with my sewing machine, button jar, scissor jar and all that good stuff.  My parents got me a sewing machine for Christmas and I absolutely love it and am using it more and more!  I love my paper holder on the wall, I got it from Ikea and it is perfect for all my scrapbook papers, and it looks good!  I also made the Live, Laugh, Love frames on the wall and they are also in french (vivre, rire, amour).

And that's our apartment!  Decorated by yours truly, and I'm sure there is more to come!!
